Join us as we celebrate a remarkable milestone in our school's history – 150 years since our first ever rugby match took place in November 1874 against Leeds St. Johns. To celebrate this momentous anniversary, the school is holding a Festival of Rugby on Saturday 15 March. This special event will bring together alumni, current students, and friends of the school to honour the legacy and achievements of the school past and present. The highlight of the day will be an exciting rugby tournament, where Old Savilians will take to the pitch to rekindle old rivalries, showcase their enduring passion for the game, and see if they have still got what it takes! With a range of family-friendly activities for all ages, from kids' games to the crossbar challenge, bring your friends, family, and plenty of energy for a fantastic afternoon of sport and community spirit. So whether you're an Old Savilian, a current player, or simply someone who has enjoyed the thrilling moments rugby has brought to QEGS over the years, join us for a celebration to remember. This is a free event, but please register your interest here. Join us after the Festival of Rugby in the QE Hall for a post match celebration including pie and peas, great company and of course, rugby! (Over 18's only) Hear stories from QEGS Rugby legends before watching the England v Wales Six Nations match which kicks off at 4.45pm. Tickets can be purchased here (Meat and vegetarian options available). |
