Andrew joined QEGS in 2003, benefitting from a reduced fees Foundation Award (bursary). After leaving QEGS he studied for a degree in French & German followed by a Master’s degree in Law followed by his Legal Practice Course (LPC). He is a solicitor in the Construction & Engineering team at DAC Beachcroft, specialising in dispute resolution and risk management, with a particular interest in energy, transport and utilities. “Spending my formative years in an environment of high expectations. I believe in the theory that, while young children are raised by their parents, teenagers and adolescents are raised by their peers. I benefitted from the positive influences of my peers and role models within the school. I appreciate the ethos of the school which is down to earth and meritocratic but also aspirational. I took advantage of the wide range of extra-curricular activities available and was involved with everything from school plays, debating, Duke of Edinburgh to rugby and fishing trips. This enabled me to make friends for life at school and also form positive relationships with teachers and staff. The extra-curricular activities I undertook are certainly some of my happiest and most formative memories and I doubt I would have had these opportunities were it not for attending QEGS.” |
